Lynd Ward: A Follow-Up to Frans Mansereel

It’s said that Lynd Ward decided to be an artist when, in the first grade, he realized that “draw” was “Ward” spelled backwards. He was influenced by Frans Mansereel and Otto Nuckel. He worked extensively in both print and paint – wood engraving, watercolor, oil, brush and ink, lithography and mezzotint. I love the energy, drama, starkness and subject of his works.
